I have some names, but I want to see if they are being used already... is there a website for this?

(website with copywritten names for bands)

just do a google search for those names, that's what i did. my buddy and i are the only duo calling themselves the "gnarlwood fumigators." we'll keep it that way too because we're getting it copyrighted.

just as a fill in for a no show...me and a couple of friends went and played as 'Wayfaring Stranger' because I had recently been workin up a verion of that song and had done an arrangement with these players and did a few shows with that name until I googled it and found out that there is a super group of that name....
now we'reStrangerStringBand (http://www.strangerstringband.com)

I like supernova stringband , except we have a percussionist... does that still fly?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif I was also thinking of "kykeon" ....I dont know, that has a certain , ehm...eyebrow raising quality, and I am not sure if its a good kind..

but kykeon would be kinda relative to our approach here... we play a song, do the song thru once maybe repeat, then go into an improvisation, usually we map out the changes, just like a lead sheet, take turns soloing over the parts, and wrap up the song usually by repeating again.. sometimes the improv will lead into an atonal and cubist (sounding) frenzy sometimes we'll change the key and close same melody , different key, stuff like that... so I could explain some kinda mumbo jumbo about the music taking the listener on a path or painting pictures, telling a story, much in the way a kykeon initiate might have been led on some kind of journey or see a vision in mind or spirit.

then on the other hand, it kinda makes me sound like a degenerate... http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif # I do like that name thought... even the way it looks... spelled..

A SOURCE FOR EXISTING BAND NAMES COULD BE bluegrass unlimited magazine, the talent listing issue. also "ibluegrass" has lots of band's profiles on it. and doing just a google search will help. I don't know how to copywright the name. Or check on copywrighted names does anyone else know how to do this.

I've been learing some Irish songs and looking for a good name for a band. How about Paddy O'Furniture?[B] http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
