Hmm... links not working.... I know how to link, something's just wrong with ebay or the cafe.

This appeared here on cafe (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=12;t=31592;hl=auction) this week.
Here is a link that <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/VINTAGE-ITALIAN-BOWEL-BACK-MANDOLIN-1800s_W0QQitemZ7385640520QQcategoryZ10179QQssPageN ameZ

Occasionally eBay misspellings or misidentified items can yield great savings. I doubt this is one of them, though.

de Meglio made great stuff ("bowel" and otherwise). What the seller doesn't show is that these have tone ports a la Ruck classical guitars in the clasp.

Eugene, can you show us an example of what you are referring to?

This.
By the way, the bowl on the auction is not a de Meglio, but a generic clone from a different workshop. It may or may not have the tone quality of a real de Meglio.
