I use EXP74s and buy from Strings Direct (http://www.stringsdirect.co.uk). EXP75s are listed at £11.95 with free P&P, and I've seen them go for £15.99 in other stores so they're probably your best bet (unless anyone knows different!).

However, if you don't mind the hassle of buying from overseas you could try buying from the States. The savings are very significant (they're about £6 if you buy from somewhere like Just Strings (http://www.juststrings.com)). Customs have only charged me once for such a purchase, and even with the added tax and shippping charges I still paid less than I would have from a UK store.

How's the Lebeda coming along?

Strings Direct is one of my main places to buy along with Stringbusters although you have to phone up at Stringbusters as they don't have them in the online store.

As for the USA option, I have been stung badly once and after that I confined myself to very small orders like a couple of picks from Greg Boyd etc.

My cousin used to live in NYC and another friend of mine used to live in Chicago and I used to get them to send or bring everything back for me and yes it was half price or less especially when we clubed together to buy packs of strings.

One time though I got a pack of strings and a Seiko chromatic tuner that was in a sale on musicians friend reduced from $85 to $25 and it was £75.00 here, I thought that I had really scored until the post man knocked and charged me £38,00 duty !!!!!!!!!

I still saved a few quid but I have thought twice ever since.

Im just fishing to see if there are any outlets that sell strings cheap as I think we get ripped off in the UK.

The Lebeda is fantastic thanks, I will find out more tonight and in the next couple of months as we are rehearsing to record.

Enjoy Nickel Creek.
