If you check out the postings from Wintergrass, you'll see this one again. And no, at this time of year watermellon gets prety expensive, so 10 kilobucks isn't too bad or an opening bid.

Didn't it start out higher last year?

I love the description. If he decides to stop building mandos, he can get a job writing for Mandolin Bros.

Happy april fools day folks, I'll probably decide to stop building mandos when I stop breathing! The RIPE on ebay is not in fact the SWEETER from wintergrass, the ripe has the F5 style peghead and biteaways on the upper bout shortening the bass side, thinning the entire sound. the sweeter is configured with the biteaways on the treble side, and its a keeper, but you decide when you hear the mandotasting CD! May relist and start the bidding at $1 after I get my $5.35 worth of advertising out of it on this 10 day april fools run.
Had the WHOA blue radio flyer copy on there last april 1 starting at 15k, including free personal delivery anywhere except indonesia and north dakota. some guy emails me saying I wont get 300 bucks for it, I email back the decimal point was off by 2 places, it shoulda started at 150, would he give me that for it, he emailed back yes.
Kidding aside, I always thought there wasnt really a specific bass side and treble side to top plate tone production, after making this watermelon slice configuration in both mirror images I think otherwise, may have to chew the rind on it a while...
