I've looked everywhere I can think of, but don't find the answer. Why did he carve the Gibson logo out of the peghead? I understand it was apparently disagreement with Gibson, but what?

Duh. I guess it's time to ask......

http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif There are a few threads here on the cafe about this:
Here's one (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=12;t=12689;hl=monroe+and+gi bson+and+logo), another one here (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=12;t=29886;hl=monroe+and+gi bson+and+tape), , and here's another about the repairing the logo afterwards (http://www.mandolincafe.net/cgi-bin/ikonboard.cgi?act=ST;f=12;t=12689;hl=monroe+and+gi bson+and+logo).

Thanks. I'll check them out.

I've also wondered what the variation was that necessitated his bridge being set so far foreward on that one? Misplaced "F" holes? An anomaly in the neck?
