View Full Version : Don Morris Plans
I got a set of Don's plans last week. I am ready to get started on #1. I have all the wood and am ready to go.
Has anyone used these plans to build before ?
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
I have not finished a mandolin from Don's Plans, but I have started one. I got plans for a flat top and a carved two point and while carving a neck for practice out of some scrap for the flat top I noticed a discrepancy in the side view and top view of the neck on the plans. I notified Don and he corrected the error and sent me another set of plans.
After some modification to that neck I have built a smaller mandolin to use that neck on just because I didn't want to toss it and it gave me an opportunity to practice some of the other steps before I attempt them on a "good" mandolin. I do have some QS redwood joined and thicknessed for the flat top and a mold built for the sides, just need to get back to it.
The two point arch top is what I am most interested in getting built. Have some quilted maple ordered for the back.

www.donsplans.com (http://www.donsplans.com)
They sell for $5.00-7.50 each plus a couple bucks for postage/handling...
