Hey, I'm the guy with the Jim Owsley #41 Mandolin built in 1980 here in Virginia, Hayes, Virginia was where it was built, I live in Woodbridge. He was a player and a builder, and I am the only one here with one of his Mando's. Here is the deal, I went to buy a Golden Gate F-body case, and it won't fit! My pal has a featherweight retangle box for his F-body, and mine won't fit! I placed the Mando's back to back, and sure enough, mine is bigger; but they have the same scale/nut to brige length!

So here is the deal, is it possible that Jim Owsley used a mandola sized body, but put a Mandolin neck/scale on it?

Thanks for your all's time and help, I will be gone this weekend, so I won't be able to follow up until Monday, any how, I'll keep you posted, dy....

..I doubt that..he probably just got a little whopper-jawed in his demensions...my BRW..is slightly bigger in size in the body..it fits tight in most cases...
