I recently purchased a Fender FM53S mandolin. I realized after a week that 4 frets on the e string do not work properly. I am unable to fret these without string sounding flat and buzzing. Is this something that should be sent back for repair or is there an easy fix?http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

Raising the bridge a little might cure it. #It also may be one high fret that could be tapped down.
Check the neck, though. If it's bowed or twisted send it back!

Thanks for the advice. #I raised the bridge a bit and it works perfectly.

Fender is also pretty good about making sure that the frets aren't level and the fingerboard is not straight. I've seen many of their mandolins all kinds of messed up in that department, especially their F models. You might want to have someone just take a look at it to make sure it's playing the best that it can. Take care...
