I'm considering scooping out the fretboard extension on my KM-675S as described on Frank Ford's site (www.frets.com). #Has anybody tried scooping this particular model? #I'm wondering how deep to go before there's a surprise underneath. Is the rosewood fretboard extension pretty thin on this model as opposed to full thickness on a better mando?
A variation in Ford's method that I might try may be to use a table mounted router with a custom rigged travel/stop bed for the mando to glide on.
