Hey all! After reading the Houston Jams topic I thought I might throw out an inquiry for my own neck of the woods (La Crosse, WI). I haven't heard much or found anything happening around this area, other than the bluegrass festivals that happen once in a great while. Madison is probably too far away, so I'm hoping something's going on http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Thanks!

A few months ago, a couple from Eau Claire came to one of the Minneapolis-area jams. #They said they were trying to start up a regular jam in the Eau Claire area, but I haven't heard anything about it since. #I'm hoping they get it going, since I spend many summer weekends in Chippewa Falls and would love to find others in the area to pick with.
The downside for you is that Eau Claire is closer to LaCrosse than Madison is, but not by much.

I have not heard of any jams located in either Eau Claire, or La Crosse. There was one in Ladysmith, that was held on the 3rd friday of the month, but I am not sure if it is still happening. I live in Chippewa Falls, and would like to get a jam going around here.

I'll be turkey hunting in Elba, Mn, not too far from Lacrosse. April 13th on, for 5 days or until I bag my bird. I'll bring my mando and 6 string for sure, if nothing else for personal enjoyment. I'll be at the Lazy D campground on Mn 74.
If you wannna play, stop on by. Call the Lazy D 507.932.3098 and we'll set it up.

yardburn,
We have a seasonal site at O'Neil Creek Campground, and I'm there many weekends during the summer. #Please let me know if you get something organized.

If for some reason you are in the Stevens Point area on a Wed evening, go over to Rosholt, where Art Stevenson runs an open mike 8-11 at the Northlands on Hwy 49 (BG/country old time). Everybody is welcome to pick. If Madison is too far, then this probably is too, (about 150 miles!) but you might just happen to be by that way some day, who knows?

SEMBA, the SE MN Bluegrass Association holds a lot of jams and a couple of festivals that aren't too far from LaCrosse. Check out their website.
Call John Campbell in Fountain City -- he's aware of most of the jamming going on in the area.
