This question's related to tenor banjos ... surely I cant be the only banjo nut here...

So has anyone else got Seamus Egan's (West Coast) amazing Lark In The Morning Medley? It's a spectacular concert recording that featured on the Masters of the Banjo CD (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000001KD/203-6041617-0874340) some years back (which is previewable (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/clipserve/B0000001KD001014/203-6041617-0874340) on that amazon page and is also on iTunes).

Anyway, I'd really like to know what the other tunes in that set are, if anyone knows it!

Thanks,

Mandonoob,

I love Seamus Egan's playing, and have had the opportunity to hear him play live plenty. In Your Ear is a great CD, which I highly recommend if you like his playing. Here's a link to his webpage, which is probably moribund, but maybe you can reach him through it.

Maybe I'll download the track from iTunes and get back to you...the snippet available online only has part of Lark in the Morning.

Oooh you lucky fing! He's an absolutely spectacular talent... I wonder what he sounds like on mandolin...

I most certainly recommend you do get it from iTunes... well worth 79p or 99c! IIRC think there's a couple of others on the same CD also worth having...

There is at least one mandolin track on In Your Ear...

I thought that was Seamus (East Coast) Egan because he plays the flute on that album too.

Seamus would probably choke, but our session gang was asked to contribute a set to a local Humane Association compilation CD. All artists were asked to contribute tunes about animals.

We did a set that started with a harp solo, My Singing Bird, then Saddle the Pony, Lark in the Morning, and Geese in the Bog.

The Assoc. was very happy with it.
