Those of you in NYC should take the chance to hear Jamie Masefield (Jazz Mandolin Project) and Doug Perkins (guitar, Smokin' Grass) this Thursday night at The Cutting Room. #This is an acoustic duo that stretches bluegrass and jazz until they meet in the middle. #Pretty cool stuff. #There are sound clips on the group's homepage: http://www.jazzmandolinproject.com/JamieDougDuo/JamieDougDuo.html. I heartily recommend "Bill and Django" as a prime example.

btw, It was very nice meeting you a few weeks ago Ted. Thanks for generously letting me play your mandolins and take up your time. Next time I'm in Lincoln I'll bring my spouse/favorite guitarist! We can let him play rhythm.

I saw them at the show before at the Middle Earth venue in bradford Vt. Awesome show. I love small venues. He gave me his pick to boot, and i brought my moms lecture recorder, better than nothing.
