I bought an Aria model M-300WA in the early 1980s for about $300.00. #I'm contemplating selling it and am trying to determine a fair value. #It's in very good condition. #Thanks for any help or sources of info!

1. Trade mandolin for full size violin <grnaef@hotmail.com> - Fort Worth, TX USA - Monday, October 03, 2005
Japanese-made two-point Aria M-300 Mandolin from the late 70's or early 80's. Spruce top and rosewood sides and back. WBWBW binding on top. Beautiful tortiseshell peghead veneer. Original hard shell case and handmade braided strap included. $250.00 trade towards your full size violin.
Is yours a 2-point?

Yes, it is a two point. It has a spruce top, but not sure that the sides and back are rosewood. The back looks more like birdseye maple. My pegboard isn't tortoiseshell -- it's black with Aria and a curly vine decoration in mother of pearl. It has chrome hardware and an adjustable bridge. There's tortoiseshell on all of the edges of the body and what looks like faux tortoiseshell for the pick guard. I also have a hardshell case.
So with my original price and this offer of $250 Towards a trade, sounds like that could be the ballpark range for selling mine. Thanks for finding that info for me!

Actually, I'm contemplating selling it to a friend here in town. Here's a photo of it from a catalog page I found on line -- it's the walnut finished one on the far right:

Thanks for the interest -- if I don't sell it to my friend, I may offer it on ebay -- I'll let you know!
