I used to live in Raleigh, NC and spent every Thursday night possible at Zepp's in Wendell. We've since moved to Charlotte and I have not been able to find a venue even close to Zepp's.

Does anyone know of any place that has a pickin night that anyone can join in on? I feel like I improved quite a bit by being able to watch and eventually join in, instead of just watching and listening to someone else play.

Any help would be appreciated.

Lost without Bluegrass......

There is a regular jam east of Charlotte about 10 miles out in the country off of I-485 at Mineral Springs Music Barn. It's kind of near Waxhaw if you know where that is. I believe it is still on Thursday night but I haven't been in a while. Sometimes they have a lot of pickers, sometimes just a few. They have regional bands there on the weekends.

There is an old store in Derita, a little community north of Charlotte, that sometimes has jams. I think it's called Pucketts. There is a group from around Davidson, Huntersville and that area that meets there sometimes. I've heard they also meet somewhere in Davidson, near the college, but I have never been. There is a guy on here that should know if he sees this.
