It's 4:30 PM EST 45 degrees F here in Va., and I received my new Collings MT an hour ago from the UPS truck. How much time should I wait until opening? I'm getting very anxious. I know that it probably needs time to acclimate. Is there a prefered amount of time?

Hi Frank....i have always heard an hour. You might just slightly open up the top of the case. Maybe unsnap it and let it set for a few minutes. Should be alright after that don't you think folks? Enjoy Frank.....gotta love those Collings. I played one of the new no frills A styles last weekend. Very nice.....and very loud. Great mandolins.

Spare Change,

Thanks. It's been sitting in the shipping box for about 1.5 hours.

Frank,

Take the instrument out of the box. If the case is cold, let it sit till room temp. When it is at room temp, crack the latches and carefully slide your hand inside. If the mandolin feels cold, just prop the case open an inch till the mandoplin feels room temp. That should do it.
