Has anyone installed on of these? I've heard they sound quite good. I am wondering about determining the proper placement. And/or anything I should know before I jump in?
Thanks.

Hi,

Carl McIntyre is a pretty good guy to ask about installation.

As I understand it, the first ideas of placement had the polymer film placed along the inside edge of the bass f-hole.
That works pretty good...but.

Current placement is usually now under the top just at or behind the bridge area(toward tailpiece).

It can be difficult to adhere the element to the wood, as you want to make sure there is no dust, etc., and want to avoid it falling off. Most luthiers make their own tool that reaches into the f-hole to press the element up against the top.

It's very easy to ream out the endpin for a jack. There is a trick of mounting the jack right to the tailpiece, and then sliding the assembly into the hole and re-securing the tailpiece screws.

I am surprised that many more people didn't respond to this post, as there are many many people that do this type of installation.
