Hi,

Wondering what a fair sale price for a 1995 gibson a-5 is (sn6520029).

It has some nicks and finish wear, though it plays excellently.

I know it was one of the last ones made in bozeman, montana, before the factory moved if that makes a difference.

Anyone have a clue?

If I've put this in the wrong category, please move it.

thanks,

Brad

Hi Brad

Off hand, I think the serial number says it's a 1996 model.
I think that a '95 A5 Gibson should demand at least $1400, or there about.

Hi,

thanks for the info - you think one even in the above described condition could get that?

The Gibson A5-L is a great mandolin, in my honest, humble opinion. A friend of mine owns one of the last from Montana, also; he obtained it from a dealer for $1,525. I saw one for sale not long ago for $2,600, but do not know if it has sold for that figure. If you could purchase one for $1,400, you had best not let any grass grow under your feet, as it should sell quickly. Be sure to get plenty of approval time in the event your ears don't cotton to it. When equipped with medium strings, I think it should sound at least as good as any "A" out there!

Back again . . . check out Gruhn's web site for a few Gibson A5-L mandolins; you won't care for the prices, though. At any rate, you will get to see some darn nice instruments, but forget the $1,400 wishes!

Is that what you liked at Mando Bros today?

The Gibson A5 is a stripped down version of the A5-L and should be priced considerably below the A5-L.

Charles Johnson has a '95 A5G listed for $1,950.00
