I'm going to spend a few days in Little Rock, AR. Does anyone know of any good shops in that city to visit?
Willard,
I'm sorry to say that you won't find much in the way of mandolins in Little Rock. Guitar Center might have a Fender on the wall but that is about all you'll find http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
When are you coming through? My band will be playing at a place in town on the April 2nd. I know several good eatin' places!!! The will be a pretty good bluegrass band playing on the 27th...The Old School Bluegrass Band...and then Rev. Horton Heat and Split Lip Rayfield will be here on the 31st. We have some great music going on but as far as mandolins go........it is B.Y.O.M (Bring Your Own Mandolin!)

Ben, I was hoping you'd see my post. I thought you lived in LR. Bummer on the mando shops. I was hoping to do some tasting. Not much in my area either. Send me a PM if you want. I plan to bring my mando.
and then Rev. Horton Heat and Split Lip Rayfield will be here on the 31st. #

Hey Willard,
BenE is right about the slim pickins (no pun intended) in L.R. on mandos. Don't know if this will help any, but there's two stores in Conway (about 30 min. up the road) Jack's, which usually has a Weber or two and maybe a Gibson depending, and the usual low end stuff (carries a lot of Taylor guitars though). and the Pickin' Porch out at Pickles Gap (Don't laugh, that's what it's called) which has a couple Mid Mo's and Kentuckys and etc. Lot of Martin Guitars. Informal Jam session around 10 on sat. mornings.

Although not in LR--Janet Davis has a great shop in Bella Vista,AR (located in NW Arkansas). Her web site is www.banjostore.com. Lots of mandos and bluegrass instruments.
If you have the time, go to Mountain View north of Little Rock-should be a lot of music and instruments.
