It seems like it's been a while since this topic came up, but I wanted to say thanks to Frank for the "restringing clinic" available on his frets.com web site. For the relatively short time I've been playing, I've paid a local luthier to restring my mando (in and of itself, a good thing to do, to support your local luthier, even if it's only a small job). But, that's mostly since I figured it wasn't worth the hassle, and I might not do a good job. Well, I fear this task no longer. The photos he has and the short descriptions that accompany them are perfect. While I didn't fly through the job, I was able to do it efficiently. Once tuned up and with some playing there's been no slipping. I'm psyched! Thanks Frank. Now back to your regularly scheduled forum topics....
