Ever missed your mandolin?

My Collings is in the shop (MT2) having a pickquard put on. I ordered an abbreviated pickguard from the Acoustic Music Co. in Nashville. Tortoishell, no binding, to have a subtle look. Been wanting a pickguard for 2 years and finally got around to it. Besides drilling the holes for the pins, the shop needs to round off the pointed end (the end facing the headstock) as it would otherwise cover that bit of binding on the support under the bridge. An asthetic thing. Hope it'll be done by next week but it's funny how I'm pining for the thing, like my girl's gone away.

I didn't mean "support under the bridge". I meant under the fretboard.

Yes, I do have a back-up mando, a hand-built F5. But I've been really into the Collings lately. So much so that I seem to have stopped caring whether I play an A or F style.
