Yeah Ash. Your track is great or it "Rocks" as we say in our household. It was fun meeting you and mum and picking a couple of tunes Sat night in Inverness. Hope your contest is successful in Oreville this weekend.
For those who don't know, Ashley is a festival mandolin contest winner and is loking to add more hardware to her young resume. Best of luck Ashley. Tell us about your track on the CD. Who plays on it, what type of instrument you play, what are your favorite tunes and players, when is your CD coming out, where are you playing next etc, etc, etc?
Thanks Dave, I had a great time makin' it. Well, I have a senior project I have to partake in for school, so I decided to make a demo, learning the programs, techniques and materials involved as I went. I have learned a great deal and made a few decent recordings in the process. I recorded my solo mando track of Aristocracy and sent it to a good friend/great guitar player up north and he added guitar and EQed it. Thanks Jim!
I have a Collings A. I love it. I had a violin maker look at my violin and he said that the label was fake and that it was probably Czech...that's all I know about my fiddle. I'm in a couple rockin country bands that do both covers and originals. We perform anywhere and everywhere we can. One band is in the process of recording a CD and it should be out by summer.
I did my Sr. Project on a career as a musician and included everything musical that I do. The focal point of the project is the demo itself which will help with gigs, freelance work, networking etc. No doubt it is accomplishing these things and it's not even done yet. I'll let ya'll know when I'm completely done with it. Still hafta add fiddle tracks and guitar tracks.
It was great meetin ya, Dave. You've produced one heck of a CD. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

One of my favourite memories from Inverness was watching Ashley's eyes light up as Jim French handed her the Loar. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif How did you like it?
I wasn't too crazy about it. I'm not much for that style. I'll tell ya what I did like was that Sullivan. Man, I couldn't give it back to Larry.
I thought that Larry wasn't going to be able to leave with the Sullivan! And he didn't quite agree with my suggestion that he should be a "patron" and loan the mando. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Best one I got to sample was David's Master Model. His Phoenix Bluegrass was also very nice--as was Juicy.:D
Copies of the CD were for sale there, but I only noticed them late in the day

Would people be more inclined to purchase the CD if Paypal were set up for it?

You better get one before the limted edition is gone because once it's gone it's out of print forever. With 30,000 mandolin pickers in the world (2000 censues)and
only 1000 of these being printed up they will go fast.
Besides it's worth the $20 to hear me pick a tune on it.
