and get to work writing out the dots and squiggly lines that resemble the Shatter the Clam tunes.
Please indicate the passages that require extra fingers.

Try here, most of these are helpful (I submitted some corrections that were rejected as duplicates, sigh)

I have two theories about that CD. One theory is that it is all computer-generated. The other is that was all recorded by a string band made up of several dozen leprechauns. The playing is so incredible, it has to be one or the other!

When I read the topic line I was expecting it to be from Scott http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Here's the relatively complete notation for how I'd play this on the mando (not quite how it was recorded)

Whoa!! I sprained a finger just reading that.
Can you possibly reduce each tune to 5 or 6 notes played slowly?
Seriuosly, thanks Mr B.

13 tracks are done, and I'm debating one or two more. I've been mixing the latest accompaniment tracks from Zan this weekend and I'm quite giddy, I sure hope folks enjoy it!

And btw Neal, yeah.. I should just keep my mouth shut sometimes to avoid drenching everyone in phlegm (to misquote a favorite TV series)

Absolutely not, Dan, this may be a mandolin board, but a little language ephemerma (?) is always welcome!

Please everyone, feel free to correct me on the ephemeraoasis. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Are you talking about a "no-see-um" there, neal? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

twaang- I was wondering if anyone was going to pick up on that! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

...dan, I think (given mandobob's typo) you might consider "Making Chowder" as a title for the next one...

A typo? Whew! #I thought it was some Celtic thing my sainted grandmother had failed to let me in on! #Now I can go back to worrying about other musical abuses on the small and helpless, like whatever "Toad the Wet Sprocket" might mean. #-- #Paul

Would you believe...that I MEANT to type clam? I've already learned the tunes on Shatter the Calm, it' s Dan's followup "Clam" I find fishy, and there isn't a sole tuna I can er, um (I think I gave myself a haddock)

Hah! #Thanks for a good chuckle, mandobob, I'll be beaming all the way home to the gorilla-my-dreams! #-- #Paul

(Yes, absolutely: RIP Don Adams, the only person in the world who could make the cone-of-silence joke work more than once!) -- PDW
