Some of you may remember this announcement (http://www.mandolincafe.com/news/publish/mandolins_00175.shtml) made a couple of months ago. MandoScapes is an all-mandolin 90-minute program broadcast by KRFC FM, community radio in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Hosts are Brent Hawley and Ellen Audley. I liked this show so much I signed a one-year contract for the Mandolin Cafe to underwrite the show. I love what Brent and Ellen are doing and if you haven't tuned into this on Monday mornings you simply don't know what you're missing!

From September 30 to October 9, KRFC will be doing their Fall fundraising in support of the station. It will come as no surprise to you that programs that are supported financially have a greater chance of continuing and doing well. During the October 3 Mandoscapes show, broadcast from 6:00 am to 7:30 am Mountain Time that Monday we have the opportunity to show our support. To assist a little I've agreed to toss in ten of the 21-Chord Coffee Mugs (see below) as a premium gift for anyone donating at the $88.90 level (don't ask me how they came up with that amount). That'll cost me just over $100.00 and I couldn't think of a better way to spend it if we can get ten people to donate that amount during the MandoScapes program, but any support will be welcome.

Assume there will be a toll-free number to call during the program and right now I don't have that information but will make it available when I do.

MandoScapes broadcasts live streaming audio over the web so this program is available anywhere in the world and provides us and opportunity to hear some great music, and for those of you with CDs a chance to get your music heard. I hope you'll all consider your support of any amount to the show during their October 3 slot.

Maybe it's because their frequency is 88.9 FM # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Sad but true, high speed isn't a reality in some corners of the world. Wish I could hear it. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif

A reminder you can make your pledge or support at any time but funds raised directly during the show send a clear message to the station's board of directors.

Thanks to everyone who called in this a.m. I heard from the station management this morning and they were really impressed with the response and said to date, Mandoscapes has easily outdone any other early morning show. They had pledges from out of state and at least one from the UK. Plus, they doubled their financial goal for the 90 minutes so everyone there is real happy.

Thanks again for your support of what I think is a great thing.
