I got a cheapo mandolin yesterday and spent the day with Murphy Henry's beginner mandolin dvd. I'm very happy with her teaching style and hope to progress quickly to jamming.
Wish me luck.

Welcome to Mandolin Cafe. You will progress quickly and in 3 weeks will be jamming with others. And at the jams you will springboard to new heights.

Three weeks! Really! I never thought I'd be able to play the mandolin because I have fat fingers but I saw Peter Rowan in concert and if he can do it I can do it. His was the best show I've ever seen.

Welcome friend. Just remember, as my mama always told me, "it takes two days to make up for each day of practice missed." She was right, again.
