Well, I have loaned out my Korean made mandolin to a friend who was intrigued by the sound at a recent church meeting where we played. #Another mandolin, actually two, are having some work done on them by a luthier about an hour away. #So here I am stuck with this little Gibson # #A-50 from 1941 (estimated). #I hadn't really played her much, so the sound was vintage, but not great. #Now that my other mandolins are out of pocket for about 6 weeks, she is my only 8-string wonder...and oh, how wonderful. #I have been playing her exclusively for about a month, and she has opened up so gradually that I hardly even noticed. #She ain't pretty after 60 years of playing, but she barks so nicely and purrs so softly...I have become so fond of her, I am not sure what to do with her cousins when they return. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
