Check out the Celtic Music ringtones at footstompin.com (http://www.footstompin.com/ringtones). As much as music-themed ringtones normally bug me, I wish I had a cellphone that could accept downloadable ringtones, so I could use the Deaf Shepherd thundering bohdran tone at the bottom of the page.

Looks like I have to get a usb cable for the cell phone in order to get those!

I'm with you regarding annoying cell-phone rings http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif but there are a couple there I could live with. But how on earth did you find this?

Hey, and congratulations! Sorry I'm a little behind the times, but I'm sending Aidan lots of good wishes # http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mandosmiley.gif

I am on Foot Stompin's monthly update email to learn about their new CD releases (I do the same for MusicScotland as well), and this month's email from FS included a blurb on their ringtone page.

Thanks for your kind thoughts re Aidian -- he is doing well, and is starting to look more like a baby, and less like E.T.

I've always tried to choose discreet/unobtrusive ringtones, but it is nice to find something different from the mainstream stuff.

Incidently it's quite easy to export midi files from TablEdit or .tef files and port them to your mobile/cellphone.

I have a Sony Ericsson K700i - far from state of the art, though it is Bluetooth enabled. Recently I managed to convert some of the video from the Woodsongs Marshall/Thile show to very good quality .mp4 video. I now have vids on my mobile of Mike & Chris playing Fisher's Hornpipe, Waiting For Kodiak, Gator Strut and Desvairada, plus various mandolin midi files exported from TablEdit and half a dozen good quality .mp3's, including Lunasa, Flook, Mary Bergin and Mike Marshall's mando version of Children's Song. I've also made loops of the twin mandolin riff in Macedonia from Strength in Numbers, which I use as a ringtone. (all via Bluetooth)

I find the phone useful for learning tunes when I'm travelling ...and I thought I only needed it to make phonecalls #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
