Hi guys,

I've had to withdraw as an instructor at Zoukfest this November as I'm going to have surgery on my left elbow to alleviate some nerve pinching. Roger has posted an announcement to the Zoukfest list- Luke Plumb will be teaching what would have been my class. Apologies for this, it has come up recently as a result of some tests I've had.

I should be fine, I've had some numbness in the little & ring fingers, and it's been caused by pinching of the nerve (a result of both my near-constant typing and mandolin playing for the last 15 years!). The prognosis is pretty good, by removing bits of my bone etc the nerve will be less constrained and have time to heal. I think this is the same procedure Scotti Adams had recently..

I have occasional flareups of that nature myself...not bad enough (yet) to warrant surgical intervention, but I wish you the best for yours and a quick recovery!

Dan, hope all goes well and that you have a speedy recovery.

Maybe you should start typing with your nose...or your toes? http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif

Bad news, man.

I do sometimes wonder if we should play as much. I had a bit of tennis elbow a couple of years ago, worse if I played guitar, but ok if I did mando. I think it was to do with the different angles my left arm would be at. I stopped playing guitar for a bit and it went away. I'm fine at the moment.

Anyway, hope all goes well.
