Elderly is posting what looks like their entire line of gibsons or are these just "examples" and not actual instruments?

I posted this article (http://www.lsj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050912/NEWS01/509120331/1002/opinion) on the Cafe home page Monday a.m. Elderly has been absent from Gibsons OAI dealer map for some time now. At some point in the past week or so Elderly stopped displaying the prominent notice that they were an authorized Gibson dealer. I'm no rocket scientist but I'd say this all adds up to an obvious conclusion. And quite frankly, it doesn't concern me one bit, but it is interesting to watch.

Sam Ash also does not do business with Gibson. The story I was told is that Gibson wanted Sam Ash to buy more for their stores
and Ash refused. So you can't buy a Gibson mandolin at Sam Ash.

But Scott, i always thought you were a rocket scientist!
Good for Elderly. Elderly's rocket scientists probably concluded Gibson has no leg to stand on -at least with current inventory when Gibs*n policy changed. They are probably doing what they have to to sell remaining stock. They do have a distressed MM so how old can their stock be?

No surprise that a banjo was at the core of the problem. #http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif
