I haven't been to Rhythm and Roots yet, though I was hoping to go down this year.

But since I am from Bristol, originally, I can tell you that I believe R&R to be strictly a downtown festival. #You'd love downtown Bristol... the state line separating Virginia and Tennessee runs right down the middle of town. #They have brass markers embedded in the yellow lines running down State Street. #And, there are markers and a mural marking Bristol as the birthplace of country music, starting the careers of The Carter Family and Jimmie Rodgers.

I don't think there are any campgrounds close to downtown, though. #You'd probably find those down to the south of the city, around Bristol Motor Speedway.

Now, I'm hoping to make it to a more "local" festival up here in Ohio for the first time this weekend. #Anyone know anything about the Mohican Bluegrass Festival in Glenmont, Ohio???

I plan to go with the family. We're staying with some friends, who helped coordinate the event, so I may get some advice from them about what not to miss. It's supposed to be a lot of fun... I guess we'll find out.

I live in the area and intend to go. It should be a really quality festival. Sad to say, I haven't been before, but I feel confident it will be worth your while. There is a lot of camping in the area, but not sure if there is any close to the festival. As indicated above, the Bristol racetrack is also there, and there are thousands of campsites near the track, but you may have to drive to the festival. if you're interested, send me a private message, and I will check on camping access for you.

I'm going. . . I'll be packing my white calton case with a mandolin cafe sticker on it! It also has a grateful dead steal your face sticker and a beer is food sticker on it....I have black hair and a black goatee. Say hello.

Have fun!

Hey, none of you guys said hello.

What did everyone think?

I was very impressed with 'The Roan Mountain Hillltoppers'.

Darrell Scott's show was pretty cool too.

Loved Old Crow Medicine Show.
