I'm interested in the blues mandolin genre. What or who are the essential recordings or players for the un-enlightened?
Rich Del Grosso's new release looks like a great cd. Anyone have it?

If you're into older blues and jub bands, you should check out Yank Rachell and Johnny Young. Do a search here on these and you'll turn up some good info.

I really like the Mandolin Blues CD:

http://www.amazon.com/exec....=507846 (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000003ORG/qid=1126178979/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/104-4791539-1608735?v=glance&s=music&n=507846)

I had not heard of Willie Hatcher before, but he is my new favorite - great stuff. You can listen to short clips of the songs on Amazon.

i also like yank's last recording- pig trader blues. really stripped down- yank and a guitarist letting it all out. stories, songs, good old time low down blues...
