Hey all is it just me? Anyone else having a hard time getting in to .com or .net. This is the only site I'm having problems with and it's driving me nuts. I want my mandolincafe. I'm addicted. I'm on a mac using safari. Thanks John

I'm no cpu guru, so I can't really help. All I know is that when I use my mac it seems like everything runs slow....try using internet explorer and see if that helps.

I had trouble accessing earlier this afternoon but then when I came back later everything was normal. Perhaps some server maintainence?

Must of been some load today because now I'm cooking again. Seconds from page to page. Thread to thread. Earlier I was just as likely to time out as get to the thread I clicked on. Thanks John
Hmm, nothing should have been wrong. Looks like the server was up fine.. I'll dig a little more. What time roughly was it an issue? Could have been a backbone link from a provider you all share?

Hey Dan it was some where around noon to two cst. And pretty much all day the day before. Thanks John
Hmm.. Tracked your IP.. appears to be linked in via South Dakota from SD Net as a provider. No network status there. Interesting, it was just the cafe that was problematic? I looked at the stats from the host ISP, there was no overall drop in traffic, so I think it was something outside of our control. Sorry I can't give more detail, this kind of stuff can be a bit of a needle-in-the-haystack hunt at times!

Dan it is amazing you were able to get that much info. Sometimes I wish I could dump my job and go back to school. Seems like theres so much more to learn. Yep just the cafe yesterday. When I said slow I mean slow. Switching from web site to web site takes about 5 to ten seconds coming here took almost a minute and the same for the the .net address. I recently wiped my entire hard drive because everything was slow. That was a agonizing two day ordeal and I still haven't reloaded everything. I'm beginning to think I need to up grade to a new mac. This one is close to four years old.
Thanks for the help I really didn't expect that. I was just curious if it was just me. Thanks John

John, this mac is OLD. It's a G3 (beige) that a geek friend gave me. I re-istalled OSX earlier this year, and while it's a pretty slow computer, it ends up waiting on the phone lines anyway. I wish there was an affordable way to get a high speed connection out here. Then I could check out all the pics in the post-a-picture thread!

Sunburst...go satellite. had my Direcway for about 2 months and love it. Only lost signal once during a HEAVY downpour.Only thing I can't do is online gaming. Too much latency bouncing to and from the satellite. Oh well, gives me more time to read things here. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
