A friend of mine had the oppurtunity to open for Sam and he sent me this photo. I thought it was a pretty diverse group of instruments.

Notice Hoss is not there. After leaving it on stage one night.... well, let's say, he won't do that again.

Cool pic, thanks for sharing. C'mon Tom let's hear it. Someone told me over the weekend that I looked silly carrying my mandolin around at the food vendors when I could have left it back stage. I guess I will just have to look silly because I have had it moved before and about had a heart attack...

I do not recall the whole story, since their were many one a night. But basically somebody knocked something over and put a crack in the top. It may have been a time a whole stack of speakers fell and just missed it or just clipped it. I'm sure that the mando in pic is a new bush model which he keeps on stage.

The mando in the picture is a newer signature model. In terms of a story about Hoss, I was told that it was sitting at the front of the stage and someone reached up to grab it just to "check it out" between sets. The sound guy saw what had happened and rescued it. The last time I saw him play, he had the same tripod stand at the front of the stage with only the sig model pointing out. He didn't play it at all. Kind of like it was there for show and/or backup.

The last couple times I saw him all of those babies where set up about 10 mins before the show and Sam walked out with Hoss in hand. I don't blame him. I really wouldn't want the other instruments out there either.

Is that a Henderson guitar?

Anybody make a mando with a built in Onstar?
