If this has already been asked, i apologize, but I was wondering how many cafe members are MK owners....besides myself that is.

I still have an MK Deluxe, it has a great tone, which has improved over the last few weeks of playing it.
However, I have a guy interested in it and I will probably sell it to help pay for the Eastman I picked up today. I hope I don't regret selling it!

I just got a Legacy Solid. I think it's worth the $285 I paid via Music123.com, but not much more. Decent volume, but it has NO low end at all.

I have a MK Legacy Deluxe for about a month. Worth the $299 I paid at Musicians Friend but prefer the Eastman.

walshb-I don't think you will regret selling the MK to pay for the Eastman. I have both and my Eastman 805 is heads above my MK in playability, tone/sound and fit and finish.

I own a lefty Legacy Deluxe and was very upset with it when i got it, being left handed it i dont have the leasure of playing several mandos before a purchase and being a broke college student didnt help. so i went ahead and bought throug a dealer without playing it and when i got it over a year ago it was way better then my rover that i had at the time. but as time went on and i encountered more and more mando's and mando players i realized that the MK just didnt sound right, almost dead with no low end. so i replaced the bridge and got a pro set up at The Music Emporium in Lexington Mass. as of now it opended up and sounds a lot better but all in all im still saving for something better with a more vibrant sound......you ever see a left handed gibson fern?.....hopfully you will in my hands sooner then later (if they will make it for me)

Legacy FS Deluxe. Love it. Wife loves it too - she's always commenting on how good it sounds. (Which is great to have in a spouse eh?)

Back in April, I purchased an MK A+ from the The Folk Shop (http://www.thefolkshop.com/) in Tuscon, Arizona.

James Tanguay is one heck of a good guy with lot's of patience. #He took the time to listen to my "level" of skill and in what venue my mandolin would be used it.

From there he made the determination on several mandolins that would be perfect for me.

At the end of the 2nd day, I finally determined the MK.

No regrets....

....and the radius fretboard definitely has helped me. #I've noticed that my playing has improved quite a bit.

Just my two cents

Legacy Deluxe, Happy, but I do need to have it setup.
Maybe I paid too much,

Legacy O and my "beater" A solid that I picked up at MF for $199...I like the O's sound, tone and feel...Now, I know it's not a Loar (tee hee), but I think it's a good value. The A Solid is, well, an inexpensive mando that I bought for work. Glad, I didn't pay the standard price.

I've had a firefly for 1.5 years and I really like it. It was only OK before getting a good setup from Joe Mendel. Now it sounds pretty good.

2 year old plus "butterfly" and a 10 month old Legacy "O"
both have upgrades and pro setups both sound real good!

They are keepers even if I go upscale which I won't, I am a happy picker. http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I too have the Legacy Deluxe ($299 closeout at Musiciansfriend.com) and had some problems at first like a strange buzzing when played open and a very lose tail piece. I took it to a local shop and they fixed everything and set it up right for $50. I found a case on Ebay for it for only another $50. I am now going to let them install either the Fishman M-200 ($149) or the M-200-M ($229). So all together for a whole set up I will have paid a total of around $500 to $600. That is still cheaper than most mandolins in the legacy's class.
