There's a great song on the old "Idle Time" tape by the Nashville Bluegrass Band, "I Closed My Heart's Door." #It would be nice to have the words without having to try to get them off the tape, but they aren't available at any source with which I am familiar. #If anybody has them, please respond.
Which brings up an interesting quesion. #Where did NBB get the words in the first place? #When a professional band wants to do a particular song, #where do they find the words? #This is probably a dumb question but if anybody has input, it would be appreciated anyway.
thanks in advance

I've always found that it's much easier to learn a song if you transcribe the words from the recording. It only takes a few minutes. Why do so many people find this to be a problem? Just wondering. Often times the lyrics you find on the web are filled with errors, anyway.

Carefull on roughstock.com, I picked up a nasty trojan virus off there a couple of months ago.

A word of warning. I don't know why lyric sites are so bad, but I have had more spyware from them than any other category of site. I don't mean just slightly more; a *lot* more. I found lyrics by googling the song name, group and "lyrics" as keywords pretty easily, but you need to lock the browser down tight first.

This is a real problem for me since I often misunderstand the lyrics. My mind is focused on all the instruments - and believe me, it's a big problem. Fortunately I have a sympathetic spouse who has a natural knack to lift lyrics right away. I wish I could do that. I was one of those guys that thought Jimi was singing,"'scuse me while I kiss this guy."http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
BTW - I went to the roughstock site before reading the warning. It whacked my browser - removing all my favorites. Fortunately I have a backup but I'd be very wary.
