Hello & Good Morning Folks,
I just wanted to share.
Last night, one of my best buddies from back home in NJ was coming back from Mexico where he was doing missionary work. #He is a pastor of a church somewhere up around Linden, NJ and every year he leads his youth group to the Rancho Anapra section of Ciudad Juárez to assist in building a community center, a school and a clinic. #( I've seen what they do and they are doing great work by the way )
Anyway, they stopped here at our home. #As we were eating Ice cream and talking, my fiancé suggests that we break out the instruments and play some tunes. #There were a couple of guitar players, my buddy had his portable drum, lot's of singers and... # ...well yours truly on the mandolin.
Most of the songs were Christian Rock, and even though I listen to a lot of different types of music, I really wasn't all too familiar with this genre. #However I was able to pick up pretty quickly.
It was probably one of the best jam sessions that I had participated in a long time. #I guess because it really wasn't planned and we just went with it.
