I most likely should not be placing this here since i'm a dealer and all but just this once i have to share my Joy. I have been waiting for quite awhile it seems to receive "in my own hands" the first Sucek mandolins. There have been any number of shipping hurdles etc but today Brown is my favorite color. Is it wrong to kiss the UPS driver & truck? I have heard reports from good friends, the builder and various others about these instruments but this is the first i have had a chance to sit with and absorb. What a wonderfully happy moment. I'm sorry if this is inappropriate but what a joy. Thanks all for indulging me this moment.

I wanna see pictures of you kissing the UPS driver. Okay, photos of the mandolins will do too.

It's not wrong if you had my UPS driver, she is a doll!

quit it mr change...you better post some photos. wait, what am i saying?
Mr. Change, if you're not posting photos of your Sucek, then I'll post photos of mine. Pavel took this, and I understand he's a better mandolin builder than a photographer. And by the way, how did you get yours before me anyway??
Very nice Lee...sorry, but it appears i need a new camera so it may take a couple days to get this one up. Although your picture looks nice i "promise" you it isn't even half as nice as it will look in person...in your hands and ears. Pavel's sense of color is excellent. i have been smiling all afternoon.

Can I ask what the "proper" name for that body style is with the double cutaway? I've been told "Venetian"....???

So.... Whats it like? How's it sound? How's it play? I have a czech mandolin that's just a sweetheart that I got good and cheap but have no clue who built it.
Mandoaz, I've heard the "Venetian" name before but I'm not sure if it pertains to what I call a "two-point" body style. This one is very similar to the traditional Gibson symmetrical two-point body. Phoenix also makes a symmetrical two-point. Old Wave and Nugget make similar asymmetrical two-points.
Labeda also makes a nice looking two-point.
Here's Pavel's two-point f-hole model that someone else purchased. Both of ours will be leaving the Czech Republic as soon as the wire transfers complete, then we'll have about 6-days of travel time.

I am a big fan of the two point style. Trying to get a list of all the two point builders out there. I've also done mission work in the Czech Republic. Too bad it was before I was into the mando (probably a good thing). How much are these going for? Either builder. Thanks,
Paul

those two points would look cool with the coma holse like on Dawgs lil pup...
Kevin, I can't take anymore pics while she beckons to me from across the big pond and beyond. And Mr. Change's camera has given up the ghost for the time being. Hold on man.
The price I paid was a super-secret-USA-introductory price because I had the guts to gamble on a Czech builder who had no presence in the States and I dealt directly with Pavel Sucek through a translator (thanks; you know who you are). If you become truly interested in purchasing a Sucek mandolin then PM to Mr. Change privately as he's the Sucek dealer around these parts now.
Oh, and if you want to see more pics I posted some unfinished ones on the Photo Forum somewhere. Search and ye shall find (I don't want to use up Scott's server space)

Huh? Is this a good thing?
I'm number two of the daring duo who order during the super-secret price period.
That's my two-point f-hole. Should be here in a week or so.
I'll let you all know what I think when it arrives.
Daikon, I was going to let you do the honors of posting your photo but someone was screaming awful hard for more photos.
I just returned from the bank to complete the international wire transfer. Thanks for the hint about the Bank of NY, made things much easier. It'll take 48 hours but there's a weekend in there so mine might not clear until Tuesday. Hopefully they'll arrive by about the 23rd.
I guess these two-pointers will need to fit in an F-style case?
