Any chance that someone would record the series for me...I do not get the DIY programming here on the west coast.
PM me if you are willing.
thanks
Is this a repeat of the previous series? Or did DIY produce another one with him making a different mandolin?

A repeat, I am sure.

Yes it's a repeat, but I'm sure that there's lots of us newbies that haven't seen it before http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
I was hoping maybe they came up with a new one! But I will still be watching. It is amazing to watch a true craftsman work his magic.
We just had the guitar series last week. Yesterday (3rd) was the first of the mandolin series and pretty good. I wish the sessions were an hour rather than a half hour. It seems a little rushed at a half hour. I guess they wanted to stretch them out.

I watched it, too. I agree with Link's thought about the 1/2 hour being rushed... especially since it was on a channel that included lots of commericals.
I really liked how he selected his wood with a practiced tap that made a lovely ringing tone. Definitely not that dead wood sound...
He covered carving the front, back, tone bars, f-holes/reinforcement, and interior of points/scroll..... next week, it'll be the neck and finish....then from there, who knows.... It was a pretty interesting show. He is a very well spoken person so it was fun to watch.
I made copies for my buds who don't get DIY. I think that it is the first time that I've watch that channel since it was added to our cable line-up. Thanks for letting us know that it was on, Hydrilla!
