View Full Version : Took some advice...
I wanted to upgrade to my first decent quality mandolin and eventually settled on a Capek F4 Basic after much searching and asking lots of irritating questions!
Has anyone else experience of these;I`m told that tonally and build wise they are very consistent through the range. As Mr Capek builds all his mandolins himself I`m looking forward to a great instrument!

I played a Capek F5 several years ago and really enjoyed it. I'm not usually comfortable on a new instrument and here I was using this instrument for the first time and I was going to play an impromptu jam with a pro friend of mine before an audience. Not only did I immediately feel comfortable on the instrument it sounded good which made me even more comfortable. I would recommend Mr. Capek's work which seems to be quite a bargain in today's market.

I played Radim Zenkl's Capek F5 a good while back, before I had much experience on mando, but I remember it was a total cannon. #We sat in a small teaching room facing each other and he blew me away with that thing. #It's a very custom mando with an enormously wide neck, but it sure sounded good compared to everything we had to play against it at the time. #I bet you do just fine.
