One of the really nice benefits of attending a camp like HCAMP last week was the ability to hear lots of different mandolins of varying quality and manufacturer. When they are all playing the same tune at the smae time - some really stand out from the crowd. Gerald Jones took each of them and played them and critiqued their set up for each of the players which was also a nice benefit. He showed us the difference in set up between mando that are played real hard and thsoe that are normally played more quietly. Well worth the time spent.
