When I was on the road with a classic rock band we traveled with a Plexi Glass shield that we would sometimes place in front of the drummer in order to keep his kit out of the front mics...and the cymbals out of our ears.
Friday night I was taking a walk in Nashville (Indiana) and passed by the harvest moon and heard Earthsaves group "The Bloomingtones" play some great old time/ Blue grass music...Scott I could hear your Banjo player a block away.
Scott can tell you better than I but their system looked to be 2 12"w/horns (maybe 15") on stands and a single mic. It works great and their sound is good but as with most if not all bands with banjos the banjo was a killer, this got me thinking...maybe we should put the banjo in a box or at least behind a shield...I say this jokingly but it is a thought.
If any of you guys are ever around Bloomington/Nashville Indiana and get the chance to hear the Bloomingtones do so, they are a good bunch of guys...and gals
