I just stumbled upon the Ancient Tone bridge tops with the round inserts where each string crosses the bridge top. Made from fossilized tusk they're not merely an inlay but extend down into the bridge top and they claim will transmit more tone into the bridge. Anyone try one of these, and how might the tone be different than say a one-piece bridge top of bone or tusk?

I saw those also. Looks interesting.

We put a fossilized ivory nut, bridge pin, and saddle on my wife's Martin guitar, and it made a nice difference in tone and sustain.

I have nothing but good things to say about my fossilized mammoth nut.....Seems like they might be on to something....

I asked about getting one with a radius to match the radius of my fretboard and was told it was impossible. Not sure why it would be impossible. I do very much like the fossilized walrus ivory topped bridge I have, but it's for a flat fretboard, which relegates it to use on the beater for now.

would appear to be the bridge edge drilled to recieve plugs of the old
paleo walrus [or whatever creature's ]tusk, perhaps all they buy is flat bridges.
Radius bridge , if the plugs are to be #drilled at the radii of the top, could not be precisely #drilled ,
held in the vise #and #drillpress without reseting
for each hole, for location ,and angle. #not impossible, but not as simple . cost more,
and, just, someone else needs to want to take on the job. #

no patents on all natural materials, yet.
