I`ve been searching for the Dates of the second annual Bluegrass Campout in Ashe County, NC, not sure of the name of it either. I had a major Computer crash and lost all kinds of good stuff that I forgot to save. Shows to go you. I would appreciate any help on this, I can`t plan my vacation until I know when... This is the info for the 4th annual Mandolin gathering, in Ashe Co., NC; not sure if this is what you may be searching for.
The 4th Annual Southeast (US) Comando Gathering will be held May 12-16 (three short months from now!) at Helton Creek Campground in Ashe County, NC, the far northwestern corner of North Carolina, a bit over 30 minutes from either Wilkesboro or Boone, just south of the Virginia line, just above the New River, right on the banks of lovely Helton Creek, a productive trout stream, catch and release rules at that time of year. #Camping is 10 bucks a night for tent, 20 bucks a night for RV. #Water and electricity at RV sites, a bathhouse with hot showers (if you can use your hands creatively in one of the bathrooms, you know the joke if you have been there!) #Last year we had over 50 folks at the height of the Gathering, before the weather turned a bit yucky. #(It's going to be perfect this year, already verified.) #Those who have been have said it's the highlight of their year, mandolin or otherwise. #If you want to join us this year, email me or David O'Brien
