I strung up #1 last night and discovered why people want an armrest. I don't think I went overboard on the recurve area, but it sure is a sharp edge compared to my other mandos which have little recurve. I wondered what effect there would be if I carved it shallower, in the area that my arm rests, and deeper everywhere else. Any thoughts?

Round the corner of the binding over before you finish it. Sharp edges are hard to finish anyway.

I did round it over, but in looking at it again, I think the recurve comes out too close to the edge. I think I should have left a little more meat to the edge. I'll see if I can soften that edge. Otherwise, I guess I make an armrest.
