Boston Band- Siucra

I had the good fortune to hear these fine players in a Pub in Halifax last week... they are Boston based and include a wonderful singer/bodhran player, a terrific flute/whistles player and one of the better Celtic rhythm guitar players I've heard... a new addition is a very young but very skilled fiddler. Apparently, the guitarist plays some bouzouki too, but he didn't have it with him.

Anyway... just thought I'd share this info with Celtic fans. They are high energy, fun, and quite good.

Hey Karen,

I have one of their CDs, as a trio. IIRC, they are a married couple, and I think the two of them played behind Aoife Clancy for a tour or two. I think that they have two or three CDs out now.

Yes, the core of the band is a trio... the husband and wife team (guitar and flute) and the singer makes three.. they are playing more and more with this additional fiddler, although the recordings as a trio are awfully good. They started in Colorado and moved to Boston.
