View Full Version : Registration for a free Rigel G110

OK, let's get started. I hope everyone will enter their name and email address in the Rigel giveaway. Tell all your friends to drop by and visit our little community and drop their name in the hat as well. Spread the word... or, don't if you think it'll improve your chances.
One note: please read the instructions and rules for posting. No need to load up the drawing with multiple email addresses. Don't spend the next week taking out free Hotmail and Yahoo addresses and then another week checking them all on June 16. That won't fly.
Finally, I'd like to thank the folks at Rigel for their generosity in making this possible. Sure, not all of us can win, but someone somewhere will be getting Christmas in June pretty soon. Thanks Pete Langdell, Peter Mix and the staff at Rigel.
Now get busy! (http://www.mandolincafe.com/giveaway.html)

I'm going to the races to see my pony run, and if I win any greenbacks we sure gona have some fun. That is some interesting numbers, that actually don't make me feel any better, cause I'm the type of " lucky " guy who would have probably put my money on Custer at the Little Big Horn!

I actually won some money in one of those gazillion dollar givaways. They kept sending me notices that I would double my prize if I subscribed to some magazines of bought some products, which I never did, but I kept returning the forms till I received a check.
My winnings? A grand total of 38 cents.

Like alot of folks I'm usually a little leery about tossing into a "free giveaway." But knowing Scott and seeing this beaut of an instrument, I don't see any reason for reservations. I'm still curious, what's the story on this? I figure that Rigel and MandolinCafe will receive publicity and good vibes for generosity and promotion. Any other background????

Yup- I'm in. Even as a builder. Maybe it will at long last allow me the opportunity to own, substitute "afford" a Rigel.
Fred Frank- I hadn't looked- there's THAT many registered members of the cafe. How cool! So okay, all you lurkers out there, start to talk! That's an order!
Just kidding, but for those of you who don't post because you think you have nothing to add or a "silly" question- rethink. This place is kind of like walking into a room with everyone happy to see you and talk to you. Join in. Let's overload Scott's server!
Thanks Scott and all of you folks at Rigel.

We do it because we can, and because it's fun. As previously mentioned, the generous party here is Rigel. We'll pick up the shipping and insurance out of our pocket but they're footing the biggest share of the bill.
If Rigel gets a bit of attention in the process, and you can rest assured they are, who can argue that's a bad thing?
Oh, dear, I submitted my e-mail address and forgot to put my name. Have I disqualified myself?

2,800+ and growing, but slowing Mike (still getting around to listening to your CD btw).
There will definitely be another mandolin giveaway at some point in the future but I have no interest in doing it every month. That'd be a bit unrealistic I think.

Since I already have 2 Rigel mandolins, I don't need a 3rd. If I win, please auction the mandolin off and give the proceeds to the American Cancer society.

Sorry for your (our) loss, Mike. An old African proverb states, "When an old man dies, a library burns down". How true it is. We can all be thankful that special people touch our lives and hopefully WE are that special person to someone else.
In the meantime, I've already bought a new stand for the Rigel. It will be well taken care of here.
Thanks Scott T. for this "contest". It must be very taxing to the servers and system administrators to pull this off. Kudos to all those working behind the scenes.
AND a special thanks to Rigel for making this possible.

Who the heck would raffle off a package of HotDogs? Oh well, if you need 'em who cares.
Ya know if everyone would stop postin' here to be postin', the thread would drop out of sight and there'd be less entrants to the contest and the odds would be better for those of us who have reg....
Awwww heck, I just did it myself.
Got a spot picked out in the basement for my Rigel. It's cool and humidity controlled in the summer ya know.

Nope, we (esp me) are evidently permanent students. Speaking of Stinky Meat, once on a ski trip to Colo, in the days of CB radios, we cruised behind a trucker whose handle was "Sneaky Pete" but since we thought everything was funny, we kept calling him Stinky Meat. Surprized he didn't go Stephen King on us. Thanks for the memory! http://www.mandolincafe.net/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
