The Tucker that Wayne Benson used on 3TO and BG 95, etc recordings before he got his Fern is listed in the classifieds. There's been some fine recordings made with that one!!

Yeah, Mevlin offered that one to me for $7500.00 a few months back and I declined. That is a great mandolin and I still remember the first time I got to meet Wayne (he was my hero at the time, second to Bush) and Melvin is the one that introduced us. He showed me a lick off of Wired that I could never figure out. He had just got that Tucker and it was great then. Someone should snap it up.

Hmmm - there is a Tucker (#9) being listed for $9,000. Is that the same one?

I would agree that there has been some great playing on that instrument, but unless the seller is going to throw in Wayne Benson too, YMMV!

i could be wrong on this, but it seems that mandolin has to get around more than any other i've ever heard of. if thats the one he played on the early blugrass 95, 96 recordings, it has a mighty fine sound, why is it constantly offered up for sale???

I think just because of people trying to make money on Wayne's name and the fact that he owned the mando.

$9,000, Wayne offered it to me a few years ago for $6,500. The price is headed to the stratosphere!
