Today I went to the Gibson Website and found that there are three links for mandolins. Gibson, Epiphone, and Maestro. Has anyone played a Maestro? Are they imports? How do they sound? Any info would be helpful.

Quick read of site, laminated top will be really durable, but, not so good at the tone comparison with a solid spruce top instrument. then there is the many varietys and tone qualitys of the many solid wood mandolins, as you will learn by the discussions on this site.
it came in a container on a ship from the eastern orient, PRC most likely.
