Has anybody been to this festival in Ireland in the past? Yeah, I know it's a b***o festival, but the line up this year is simply too good to miss. Bela Fleck, Pete Wernick, Bryan Sutton, Tony Trishka...I'm starting to drool now (so I guess I'll fit in with the banjo players).
Looks like a lot of fun, but I'm wondering if I turn up to the jams with a mandolin will I get any strange looks or dissenting voices? Especially since my entire Irish repertoire consists of a slow version of Red Haired Boy.
Hopefully someone here has been in the past, so please fill me in on what it's like, what kind of crowd it attracts (are the sessions more Irish than bluegrass for example?) etc. Thanks!
