I have been curious as to what type of spruce would have been used for the soundboard,and how to tell the difference between engelmann and adirondack, or sitka if it was used?

Probably sitka, but Big Joe from Gibson can confirm. You may need to provide a serial number to Gibson to be 100% sure, because if it is a custom model who knows what kind of wood was used.

I would also guess that it is Sitka.
