Well I am just about done with # 1. I am to the point where I am waiting for my finish to set so I can buff it out and string'er up. I did take her for a test drive in the white and WOW compared to my old Alabama "A" it sounds incredible. I really appreciate all the help from this forum. And I look forward to many more of my questions being answered. Here are a few pic's of the process.

used dark brown feibings leather dye. It came out really nice but I did get some spots seeping inside. No problem I am sure it will still sound sweet.

The back after a few coats of shellac. I decided to spray shellac after talking to Yonkle.

Well about two more days of waiting and them I will be buffing her out. Plan to use micro mesh all the way to 12000 grit and then Meguiers #17 and #10. I will post some more pictures after she is strung up and singing next week.
this last picture shows some of the figure in the neck.
Very nice, congratulations. Be careful tho, it is really addictive.

Got her buffed out just waiting to put strings on. Here are a few pictures. One thing I learned is that you should not set it on your lap to buff out the other side. it leaves jean prints on the buffed side. Now I have to buff out the back again. But live and learn.

Yeah I rebuffed starting with 4000. It came out great. There is one spot on the back but it is hardly noticeable. I will string it up this weekend.

Thanks for the comments. It really is nice to hear other builders say it looks nice. Just makes me feel so proud!
Stephanie the labels really look nice on the back, here is a picture. After the glue dried I wiped away the excess with water and it turned out really nice, looks real old timey.
